Speaker Spotlight: Vin Tangpricha, MD, PhD

We are excited to host Vin Tangpricha, MD, PhD, as a plenary lecture speaker at the ASRM 2023 Scientific Congress & Expo. He will be featured as the 2023 Samuel Pang LGBTQ+ Leadership in Education and Research Keynote speaker, sharing a lecture on Transgender Medicine: Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy Across the Life Spectrum on Monday, October 16, 3:30 – 4:15 PM.

This presentation aims to describe the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term follow-up of transgender persons from adolescence to older ages. Dr. Tangpricha will discuss new hormone guidelines and research studies that help demonstrate the safety of gender-affirming hormone therapies. The lecture will also cover topics important to the aging transgender person. To learn more about this session, click here.

Vin Tangpricha, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Lipids at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Tangpricha received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency and endocrinology fellowship at the Boston University Medical Center. He also completed his PhD in molecular medicine at the Boston University School of Medicine. He serves on the Endocrine Society guidelines committee for the hormone treatment of gender-non-conforming and gender-incongruent patients, which has published two international guidelines on transgender patients (2009 and revised in 2017). He served on the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) guidelines committee for the Standards of Care (SOC) for Transgender people in 2011 and 2022 and is a past president of WPATH. He receives funding from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and NIH. He is the editor-in-chief of Endocrine Practice and has published over 250 peer-reviewed manuscripts.

CAMP ASRM Returns!

Camp ASRM is a childcare service offered Sunday, October 15 through Wednesday, October 18 in the Hilton New Orleans Riverside, the headquarters hotel for ASRM 2023. Activities include age-appropriate themes, arts and crafts, group games, music and movement, board games, story time, dramatic play, etc. Snacks, lunch, and water will be provided. Registration is open for full and half-day sessions!

Sunday, October 15 – Tuesday, October 17:
Full day, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, $180
