Speaker Spotlight: Ken Kwapis

We are excited to host Mr. Ken Kwapis as a plenary speaker at the ASRM 2023 Scientific Congress & Expo. Join us Tuesday, October 17, from 8:45-10:00 AM when Dr. Michael Thomas, ASRM President, and Mr. Kwapis share the stage for an informal, audience-engaged, conversation about leadership, feedback, and acknowledgment. Hear from Ken as he talks about his career, see clips from movies and television shows he has directed, and learn leadership lessons he shares in his book entitled “But What I Really Want to Do Is Direct–Lessons from A Life Behind the Camera.” 

Ken Kwapis is a director of motion pictures and television. He has directed 11 feature films: A Walk In The Woods, Big Miracle, He’s Just Not That Into You, License to Wed, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Sexual Life, The Beautician and the Beast, Dunston Checks In, He Said, She Said (codirected with Marisa Silver), Vibes, and Sesame Street Presents: Follow That Bird. Kwapis also helped launch nine television series, including, The Larry Sanders Show, The Bernie Mac Show, The Office, Outsourced, Happyish, and #blackAF. He also directed episodes of numerous shows, including Freaks and Geeks, Malcolm in the Middle, Santa Clarita Diet, and One Mississippi. He has authored But What I Really Want To Do Is Direct: Lessons from A Life Behind the Camera.

CAMP ASRM Returns!

Camp ASRM is a childcare service offered Sunday, October 15 through Wednesday, October 18 in the Hilton New Orleans Riverside, the headquarters hotel for ASRM 2023. Activities include age-appropriate themes, arts and crafts, group games, music and movement, board games, story time, dramatic play, etc. Snacks, lunch, and water will be provided. Registration is open for full and half-day sessions!

Sunday, October 15 – Tuesday, October 17:
Full day, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, $180
Half day, 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, $95

Wednesday, October 18:
7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, $100

ASRM & CADE Foundation Social Media Summit

ASRM and the CADE Foundation are joining forces to host the Social Media Summit at the ASRM Scientific Congress & Expo. Network with your colleagues, listen to presentations from reproductive medicine social media gurus, and dig deeper into the different aspects of social media with our panelists in special breakout group sessions. Please note that there is no on-site registration for this event. Add the Social Media Summit to your ASRM 2023 Scientific Congress & Expo registration. ASRM President, Dr. Michael A. Thomas, invites all Congress attendees to join the 2023 President’s Gala benefiting the ASRM Research Institute.

The ASRM Research Institute has awarded over $3 million in research grants in the field of reproductive medicine since its conception in 2018 and is a catalyst for the next generation of discoveries in reproductive medicine and access to care. This year’s Gala will fund continued growth and groundbreaking research. The ASRM President’s Gala will begin with a cocktail reception, ASRM awards presentation, dinner, and a live fundraising auction.
