Join Dr. Marisa Bartolomei, PhD, as she explores the use of a mouse model to study the effects of new ART procedures. In this lecture, we’ll discuss combining trophectoderm biopsy with IVF. Marisa Bartolomei is the Perelman Professor of Cell & Developmental Biology and co-Director of the Epigenetics Institute at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. She received her BS from the University of Maryland and PhD from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Throughout her career, she has received numerous accolades, including the 2006 Society for Women’s Health Research Medtronic’s Prize, the 2011 Jane Glick Graduate School Teaching Award, and an NIH MERIT award. In 2022 she was the recipient of the Society for the Study of Reproduction Research Award. Dr. Bartolomei is also a member of the National Academy of Sciences, is actively involved in the scientific community, and serve as an editor for journals like Human Molecular Genetics, PLOS Genetics, and PNAS Nexus. She also chairs the Advisory Council for the Frontiers in Reproduction Course.

Exploring on foot reveals the city’s charm, and guided walking tours offer unique insights. Bike rentals, especially the Blue Bikes system, provide a fun way to cover more ground. Pedicabs are handy for short distances in select neighborhoods. The city bus system is reliable, and the Algiers Ferry crosses the Mississippi River. Hop-On Hop-Off Tour buses and various guided tours cater to tourists. Don’t miss the iconic New Orleans streetcars, like the St. Charles Avenue line dating back to 1835. New Orleans offers a variety of transportation choices to suit your travel needs.
