Dr. Kenneth J. Ryan

Dr. Kenneth J. Ryan demonstrated a strong devotion to basic science research and made important contributions to the study of steroid hormone biosynthesis and action. He was a forceful advocate for the reproductive rights of women. Through this symposium at the ASRM Scientific Congress, the ABOG Foundation recognizes the inspirational and thoughtful leadership of a physician, scientist and ethicist who helped shape the structure of modern obstetrics and gynecology.

The ABOG Foundation – Kenneth J. Ryan Ethics Symposium: Reimagining Reproductive Counseling and Treatment in an Era of Uncertainty: Pandemic Impacts on Fertility Care | Monday, Oct. 18, 1:30 – 2:45 pm

ASRM is pleased to announce the topic for the ABOG Foundation-Kenneth J. Ryan Ethics Symposium: Reimagining Reproductive Counseling and Treatment in an Era of Uncertainty: Pandemic Impacts on Fertility Care.

This symposium will address informed consent and counseling in an era of uncertainty. It will suggest ways to provide appropriate guidance as knowledge and clinical experience evolve. Speakers include an ethicist, a reproductive epidemiologist, and a maternal fetal medicine physician with expertise in infectious disease. The symposium will provide participants with a framework to understand the unique ethical and consent issues and give them tools to develop their own approach to counseling in an era of uncertainty.
